One of the loveliest days I’ve had for ages was last week when I visited my great friend Lucy Young. She was being photographed in her gorgeous kitchen in and I popped along to interview her.

There are few treats in life as lovely as being cooked for by Lucy and the lunch she made us all was utterly delicious.

She has a real knack of taking something very simple – in this case goat’s cheese, French bread, roasted peppers and caramalised onions – and turning them into a dish that makes you want seconds and even thirds.

Served with a salad tossed and one of Mary Berry’s delicious dressings, I can honestly say it was lunch at its most perfect.

Lucy’s kitchen is pretty perfect too. It’s really fresh and modern and the white units and stone floor really show off her new Duck Egg Blue AGA Total Control.
