New-look AGA shop in Derby is well worth a visit

I spend a great deal of my time in AGA shops throughout the country. Whenever I visit a new town and have a little time to spare, I pop in to see old friends, catch up on the latest products and offers… and – more often than is good for my waistline – sample delicious freshly baked goodies.

My latest visit was to the new-look AGA shop in Derby, which has recently undergone a major refurbishment.

The grand re-opening was compered by Sarah Whittaker and Patricia Dunbar, both experienced AGA demonstrators and authors. Between the two of the, there was a feast of mouth-watering dishes and the chance to have a good chat and a glass of wine.

Artisan baker Tony Jacobs took some time out from his new local boulangerie – BAKED, located on Derby’s Strand – to lead two bread-making classes upstairs. He left suitably won over by his first AGA experience.

The store – which centres around a gorgeous kitchen setting by Osborne of Ilkeston and another by Charles Yorke – is bright and modern, with a comprehensive range of AGA, Rayburn and AGA Cookshop displays, and – as is always the case – the staff are wonderfully welcoming and knowledegable.

The AGA shop in Derby is at 23 Queen Street, Derby, in the cathedral quarter, DE1 3DS and the phone number is 01332 340057. I would thoroughly recommend dropping in.

  1. It was a great pleasure to be involved in the Grand Re-opening of the Derby Aga shop and I was indeed won over by the charms of an Aga.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself and greatly appreciated the support I was given by the team at Aga Derby for what was my first ever bread class! It was a fantastic experience.
