Your chance to vote in the Birmingham Made Me awards

I posted an item a while ago about the fact that AGA Rangemaster had been shortlisted for the award of Best Brand 2012 and the AGA Total Control cooker itself had been nominated for Best Innovation 2012 in the inaugural Birmingham Made Me Design EXPO and Awards.

Well, the winners are being selected by the public through an online vote and now you have the chance to get involved in this exciting project, which sets out to bring about greater levels of collaboration between higher education and the design and manufacturing communities that have formed the backbone of the Midlands economy.

Featuring more than 100 exhibitors from business and education and incorporating a Design Fringe programme with 20-plus art and design seminars, events and activities, the EXPO runs from the 15th-22nd June at the Mailbox in Birmingham. As well as promoting the region’s best brands, the event also provides an opportunity to get to know better some of the Midlands’ most influential businesses.

William McGrath, Chief Executive of AGA Rangemaster, said: “IDEA Birmingham is a great way to showcase the design and innovation capabilities of the region. The Design Expo and the Awards will highlight the many success stories of our design-led businesses and of effective business-university collaborations.”

To place your vote, simply visit the Vote Here page on the IDEA Birmingham website, where you will be able to choose, from a drop-down menu, either the Best Midlands Brand category or the Best Midland Innovation category. You will then be shown the full list of nominees and all you then have to do is click on ‘Vote Now’.

Do take a moment to cast your vote – it’s so good to have the chance to support home-grown industry and the very best of British design.
